
They don’t give a fuck if you have a 6 pack.
They don’t care what you can bench.
They’re not interested in your 5km PB is.
Now, I’ve not gone soft – I think men should be fit, strong and of a healthy body composition.
I’m aware that being in shape is only a small piece of the complex parenting puzzle – but everything in life is better if you’re physically capable.
You don’t have to be the leanest, strongest or fittest.
But, you should be ‘fit’ for purpose.
Are you ‘fit’ enough to take them on an adventure?
To play football or other sports?
To carry them when they’re tired?
To be a positive role model with your nutrition and lifestyle habits?
To protect them from danger, physically and mentally?
Your behaviours become their behaviours – good or bad.
I’m 100% biased but I see first hand with my clients the positive impact they have on their children’s lives by making some positive changes to their own health.
You don’t have to be an elite athlete.
You just need to be capable.
You need to Be A Strong Example.
