People love to make it more complicated than it needs to be.
Either to sell you something or use it as an excuse.
I can guarantee when you look at the habits and routines of anyone that’s in good physical condition there will be nothing remarkable, novel or gimmicky.
They will have a solid strength programme.
They will move plenty throughout the day.
They will have sleep dialed in.
They will be hydrated.
They’ll eat a diet containing mostly unprocessed foods.
Look at your favourite Olympic athlete – you’ll be able to find a snap shot of their training online nowadays.
I can bet it’s saturated with fundamental exercises done consistently with an appropriate intensity.
If you’re just starting on your journey or an everyday athlete.
You don’t need fancy supplements.
You don’t need a 19 step morning routine.
You don’t need a paleo, organic, gluten free meal plan based around your star sign.
You don’t need to be following an expensive training plan designed by a social media influencer that has never trained anyone.
You need to get strong – Bench, Squat, Deadlift, Pull Ups.
You need to get moving – 10k steps is a decent standard.
You need to get your heart pumping – some Airdyne Intervals will sort that.
You need to stop eating like a teenager.
You need to do this consistently – months and year. Not just when you feel like it or when it’s convenient.
That’s how you get in and stay in shape.
