Before embarking on your fitness journey it is important to consider what you are willing to trade off for success.
Sometimes the trade off isn’t worth it for people.
Some people don’t want to get in shape more than what they are willing to sacrifice.
Some people are happy with a small trade off for small results.
Some people are willing to sacrifice a lot for extreme results.
If you’re overweight and sedentary, it would not take much to drop some body fat and be generally healthier.
You might be required to cut back on your calories from junk food and alcohol or go out for a walk instead of binging on Netflix.
This seems like a reasonable trade off, that would yield reasonable results.
But you have to ask yourself – is the sacrifice worth the potential outcome?
You might be sitting around 10% bodyfat, in good shape but you want to get absolutely shredded.
This would require a much bigger sacrifice, but would produce more extreme results.
Again, is the trade off worth it?
Not everyone has to go full beast mode to be healthier, fitter and happier.
Some people are happy training a few times a week that allows them to be less strict with their diet and enjoy the weekend treats.
Sometimes the sacrifice isn’t worth it for what would make you happy.
Sometimes ‘breaking even’ is all that people are happy with it.
Sometimes the big trade off won’t make you happy.
The juice is not always worth the squeeze.
Conversely, if you want to achieve great things – what you’re willing to trade must be of the same magnitude.
