
Over the past 6 months I have been working with a few clients in Semi-Private groups.
These groups typically have 3-6 people in the group and I have found these groups to be a highly effective way of ensuring everyone gets the most out of their training.
There will be many options to you in January with regards to your training but we firmly believe that training in small groups of like minded individuals can be highly motivating and produces fantastic results.

“I started training with Brian in his semi-private group back in July. Since then I have made steady and consistent progress with fitness, fat loss and building strength. I had periodically started and stopped meta-fit style training before (usually because I picked up lower back injuries) and realised I had to do something slightly different to maintain progress. Since starting training with Brian, I’ve had no issues with injury and I’m convinced the combination of cardio and strength work that Brian coaches offers the best approach to long-term injury-free results. The sessions are challenging but manageable and you are occasionally pushed to a level that’s just outside your comfort zone. The weights side of things is something I’d never been interested in before, but with personalised programmes and Brian’s encouragement, it’s something that has become increasingly enjoyable. The small group training has also been really good as you get the benefit of training with others but with a PT feel to it. You also find yourself showing up to every session which might not always be the case when you are in a larger group and your absence may not be quite so noticeable. “As a 49 yo endurance runner I started going to the Fit Pit in Troon in 2014 to do circuits sessions twice per week. I was never a gym person and frankly thought gyms were for pretentious people who like posing in mirrors. My diet was running based, mainly carbo loading, lots of oily sauces, pasta, fish and chicken, not a lot of red meats.
Brian quickly identified this and offered to look at my nutrition, producing an amazing runner friendly nutrition & advice diet plan, consisting of much cleaner food, much more calorie controlled and the essential part was reducing fat and replacing it with protein… it wasn’t forced upon me, simply written on an informative basis with suggestions, in fact it was designed to make me think a lot more about what I was planning for meals and I started to read the nutrition advice labels on food. I should say I was impressed by the immediate changes in health benefits, energy levels and generally better feeling after going through the cross over. My two sporty daughters, aged 22 & 19, have also adopted the change to their diets. We all agree this is a lifetime change for us all.
In September 2016, I decided to invest further and opted for Brian’s “Lean Muscle Semi-Private” 6-week programme, which is a superb mix of strength & conditioning in the weights room, with cardio workouts in the gym. This programme took place at 05.15am three days per week, incorporated the clean food, high protein nutrition plans and advice. I’d never been one to lift weights but Brian taught me the techniques and I quickly started to enjoy taking part in these sessions. The benefits and enjoyment I gained from this 6 weeks convinced me to invest in a second “Built Lean” 6-week programme. Very like the first one, I can’t commend both courses enough and the way Brian delivers the training is second to none. Nothing is ever a problem, if one of the members cannot make a time he will always do everything in his power to accommodate.
In summary, I enjoy the atmosphere in the Fit Pit. Its Brian’s no nonsense, no frills approach, it’s a gym where people of like minds go and put in maximum effort, not to pose in mirrors and wear the most glam gear, we all go there to work hard. Brian does his workouts there and puts them on-line for us to see, which gains him enormous respect from members because you know he works harder than anyone else. Now, my body shape has changed for the better, I am stronger, have good core shape and see the changes in my arms, shoulders, waist and legs. I feel these changes when I’m running as well and look forward to putting my body through the punishing endurance running season in 2017.
I consider Brian & his business partner/wife Louise as friends now, as sessions are always delivered in a positive, friendly and encouraging manner, always guaranteed to get the best out of anyone.”
