3 Boring but Effective Fat Loss Solutions…….

Boring But Effective Fat Loss.jpg

In the world we live in, everyone is selling a solution to the obesity problem…….

Magic pills, supplements and potions are usually enforced upon us as the ‘New Miracle Formula’ that promises to solve the problem in a matter of days or hours.

The scary thing is that many of us what rather spend money on expensive supplements and products rather than looking at the basics.

Before you think about spending over £50 a month on expensive shakes or pills make sure you have the following in place with your diet.

  1. Drink Water – it is surprising the number of people who are still under hydrated.  If you are not consuming at least 2 litres of water per day then you should not even be thinking of doing anything else with your diet.  If you are not drinking enough, start now.  Go to the tap, fill a glass and consume.  It is the single easiest thing you can do that will have the biggest impact on your health, yet so many people are not willing to do this.
  2. Eat More Veg – maybe not quite as easy to achieve as increasing your water intake but it should be achievable.  Buying some green veg is not expensive but again, as with the water, it will have a positive impact on your health and also assist with fat loss.  Your body will function a lot better, meaning you will feel better.
  3. Eat More Protein – although everyone may have a different protein requirement, generally in my experience I have found that those who are looking to lose fat tend to over consume carbohydrates and under consume protein.  A rough guide would be to aim to consume around 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.  A good start to reverse this is to have a high protein breakfast instead of cereals and toast and things like that.  Have some greek yogurt, eggs, low-fat sausages etc to ensure you start your day with a good amount of protein instead of sugary cereals.  You will feel fuller for longer and protein will help build and repair muscle cells.

If you have not ticked the boxes above then do not think about spending money on fancy supplements.  Yes, some are very good and can help but don’t bypass the basics.  Once you are drinking enough water, eating enough protein and eating enough veg then you can start looking at some supplements.  Despite their claims many people are not at the stage where they need supplements at the moment.

The tips may seem boring, you may have heard them a million times but it’s now up to you to apply the knowledge you have and improve your health without spending a fortune.
